The pueblo is having a Fiesta. In the midst of all the celebration an assassin shoots Don Aguilera, the father of Tessa's childhood friend, Ramon. Dr. Helm tries franticly to save the stricken man, while Montoya and the Queen separately try to find the assassin. Ramon blames Don Fuentes for his father's attack and swears vengeance against the don who had been in conflict with his father.

The Queen, while protecting Aguilera, discovers the assassin making another attempt and realizes he was really aiming for Dr. Helm and not the don. Helm loses the struggle for Aguilera's life and the don’s stricken son swears vengeance against the man he mistakenly thinks ordered his father’s death.

While Montoya is investigating the assassination he finds Helm searching the room abandoned by the assassin. Helm gives an explanation that is accepted by Montoya but obviously not believed.

Ramon tries to avenge himself on the man he believes killed his father, but is caught in the attempt. Only the Queen’s quick actions save the rash young man from the same fate as his father.

As Helm flees the pueblo, the assassin makes a deal with Montoya - the Queen in exchange for Helm - and they ride out on the trail after the doctor.

Can the Queen find Helm in time to save him from the assassin? Or will both thedoctor and the Queen fall victim to Montoya's betrayal?
